Single fired stoneware mug with shades of reds, browns and blues. I see old wooden pilings on a deserted beach glowing in the sunset and reflected in the water or wet sand. What do you see?

Description

A natural feeling handmade mug in earthy and watery tones. Perfect for tea, hot chocolate, frothy coffee or mulled wine.

There are two option here. One with brown tenmoku glaze inside and on the top section. Bluey grey glaze outside (it’s come out almost greeny grey here) with flowing red copper coloured vertical stripes. The other has the glazes inverted, with the brown on the lower third of the outside and the blue grey glaze inside and on the top.

These mugs are made of a white stoneware clay which is visible on and around the base.

Thrown by me on my kick-wheel  and single fired to save energy.

8- 9 cm tall, 10 cm diameter

Please note all of my work is handmade and there will be slight variations in size, shapes, glaze colour and patterns but all within a theme. I encourage the slight unpredictability and fluctuations and delight in mismatched sets. Each piece is unique.
