Description
In this session, you will learn how to prepare the clay and to throw a pot on a kick wheel (pedal powered).
People have been making pottery on kick wheels for thousands of years. While many modern wheels are electric the hand motions you learn are the same, you are just using your leg rather than electricity to power the wheel! It’s very fun and satisfying.
You should have time for several attempts during the lesson and you can select up to 2 pots to keep. I will glaze and fire these for later collection in either clear, blue-grey, brown or greeny glaze. Please be aware that pots do sometimes break in the firing process and glazes don’t always come out as expected!
I can offer sessions in the daytime or early evening on weekdays or weekends. I am likely to have more availability during school term times. Please email me before or after purchase to arrange a date that suits us both.
The lesson needs to take place within 6 months of purchase.
You can buy this session as a gift, please drop me and email with the contact details of who the gift is for so I can arrange a date with them.
